Scott Bolyard is the managing partner and founder of Creative Design Solutions. He graduated from West Virginia University where he received honors for his study of Landscape Architecture. With project successes that extend from Florida to West Virginia he has influenced the creation and managed the design of many successful projects.
Jerry R. Brown Construction Company has been building fine homes in Western Carolina for over 30 years. Ranging from small cottages to large estate homes, Jerry Brown has built some of the finest homes in Western North Carolina. His reputation for quality is unsurpassed.
Matt Cantrell of Cantrell Construction will be heading up the road building and site grading work on the site, incorporating his years of experience as a grading contractor in Transylvania County to make sure the roads and trails of Sutton Knob appear as though they’ve been there for years.
Dee Ann Allen, the interior designer for the cottages, specializes in turning ordinary homes into spectacular show pieces. Most of the time, Dee Ann is busy helping homeowners prepare their homes for real estate or freshen things up with redecorating, but at Sutton Knob, Dee Ann will be starting with a blank slate and we can’t wait to see what she’ll be able to do.
As the owner of CMC Landscaping and Hydroseeding, Courtney Cheek gets to spend his time working the land, as the locals like to say. You could call him a dirt farmer and it probably wouldn’t get you into too much trouble, because once you see the final vision that Courtney has for Sutton Knob’s miles of planned hiking trails, bike paths and cultivated natural areas you’ll understand that working the land has a whole new meaning at Sutton Knob.
Travis Mileti, president of Mountainworks, is a 20-year specialist in designing custom homes in the mountain and lake communities of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Travis specializes in creating homes that fit seamlessly into the surrounding landscape by incorporating a design philosophy that strives to ensure every home his company designs has a timeless look.
Eric Crews is the owner of Land of Sky Media, a small firm that specializes in video production, website design and written content for both print publications and websites. Eric will be documenting the Sutton Knob development process and will be providing regular updates with video, photography and blog updates from the site.
Kristy Kolisch Harris is the vice president of operations at Deer Ridge Property Management, the company that will be in charge of overseeing rentals of the cottages at Sutton Knob. Kristy lives in Cedar Mountain with her husband, Billy, their daughters Emma & Lucy and their two Labrador Retrievers, Hayla and Lily.
Stephen “Billy” Harris has been selling real estate in Brevard since 2002 and is consistently ranked in the top producers for the region. Billy represented the Developer (or Schuessler family) on the purchase of this property and will handle all sales moving forward. Call Billy today to learn out your real estate options in Sutton Knob or reach him through his website at www.billyharrisnc.com.
The Schuesslers currently live in Houston and now have a second home in Pisgah Forest. They love the mountains and the local community and decided this would be their future home back in 2004 when they purchased land to build their home. With their home complete, they decided to invest in Transylvania county as they want to support continued growth in tourism and help create jobs in the community by working with local small businesses on the project. They want to create vacation homes nestled in the mountains creating an escape from reality like they experience every time they return here from Houston.

“Maple Cottage was everything we could have ever asked for – closeness to downtown Brevard, availability of restaurants and closeness to some of the best riding trails in the area and spectacular waterfalls! Everything about it was nothing but quality! It’s a beautiful home with beautiful views. Nothing was left out and no corners were cut. We stayed 8 nights and I could have stayed 8 more! We highly recommend this property!” – Vince & Michelle, September 2017
“The view was spectacular; the accommodations well furbished and very comfortable. Everything and everyone was first rate. Would do it again.” – June, August 2017
We had a great time. Chinquapin was perfect, we especially enjoyed the large screened porch with the great mountain view. And on a cool evening we laid a wood fire in the living room fireplace. Your fire starters work great with the dried wood. We bought a shower chair with us for my wife and it worked great in your handy shower with both a handheld and an overhead shower. he cabin is ideally located for access to Dupont State Forest and 276 up to Pisgah on the BRP. We even saw a White Squirrel in the wild.”
– Bill, May 2017
“The million dollar views from the porch, great room and master bedroom.” – Joe, December 2017
“The cottage had everything we could possibly need. What a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the mountains.” – Heather, April 2018
“Beautiful location and beautiful décor. Very convenient to many attractions.” – Terra, June 2017
